rambling update

May started with news that it's likely we won't get our TC until next year.  I am so bummed.  I knew in the back of my mind that it was a possibility, but was hoping that it wouldn't be the case.  Little A will be with his foster momma until around February or so.  Nothing I can do about it, so I'm trying to be okay with it... we have amazing family and friends who support us and who already love A so much, so we are lucky!

So Mother's Day came and went.  It was a little sad because of the above news, but is always nice to be with family.  I got gorgeous flowers from M, got some cute onsies and books for A from Grandma and Grandpa, lots of nice cards and a necklace with A's picture and name on it from a friend!

The rest of May was kind of uneventful - same things as usual.  M playing ball, working, trying to get caught up on yardwork, etc.  I got another cold, have been busy at work, and have too many things to do and not enough time to do it (guess I could get off the computer and get to my "list"... right?).  It has been rainy and gray for a good two weeks solid now.  Sick of it!  I miss seeing the sun!  The weather has ruined our camping trip for Memorial Day weekend.  I was excited since it would have been Bear's first camping trip.  I guess she will just have to have her first camping experience next month.  A couple of weekends ago we went to check out the campsite with friends and Ranger and Bear went nuts running around playing and exploring, it was fun!

The campsite is just behind some of these trees.  And yes, that is fresh snow you see on the trees.  Perfect for camping, don't you think?

Ranger - such a good camping dog!

Bear had so much fun running around, she was hard to keep up with!

By the end of the day, they were both filthy and tired and slept in the back of the truck on the way home!

So back to the lots of things to do - since we have lots of time until we travel, I'll be totally done with all my classes by the time my little guy gets home, and we have lots of books on adoption and parenting to finish reading, we have painting and other projects (good thing M is such a good handyman carpenter mechanic extraordinaire!).  We want to build a bookcase that looks similar to this for A's room.

Isn't that awesome?!?!?  And I might try to put together a Dr Seuss quilt for him, too.  By "I", what I really mean is that I am going to beg my mom for help!  We found some really cute fabrics online and think we are smart enough to put together a simple one.  Right?!??  Right!!!

Let's try whatnot wednesday

I need some help with this blog.  When I started I was pretty proud of myself that I figured out how to change fonts and add stuff to the side bar, but now I'm over it.  Any blogger tips would be helpful!  I guess I'll have to start playing with it and see what I can do.

I also see lots of wordless wednesday or whatnot wednesday posts and I love them!  I'm going to give it a try this week:

  • m and I had the day off yesterday and one of our many shopping stops was Costco (wish we had one closer, I really do love it).  I bought a box of 200 diapers and was so excited about it!  I made myself laugh over my giddiness about it.  I almost bought formula too and decided to wait since I don't want it sitting on the shelf for 5 months - I have no clue what the shelf life on those things are.
  • Bear has become very whine-y lately.  I've started to wonder if she's trying to communicate something.  When I talk to her when she's whining, she whines more, like we are having a conversation or something.  It's a crack up!
  • Was at lunch with a co-worker today and saw a teenage boy with the Justin Bieber hairdo.  Really?!??  I do not remember boys taking that amount of time for a ridiculous and girly hairstyle like that when I was in high school.  I hope that A doesn't want to do something like that with his hair...
ok, I'll work on getting better with my randomness, and making this blog look cooler.  Have a fabulous Wednesday!
