I dropped off A's care package on Thursday. His birthday is in 13 days, and I know he won't get the package by his birthday, but hopefully he'll get it soon. I had found a Dr. Seuss birthday card a couple of months ago and had to buy it. I was going to save it for later... but decided to use it for b-day #1! And hopefully he'll be able to wear the birthday shirt, even if it's not actually on his birthday. It's still cute!
Little A's new BFF was born yesterday at 8:33 am and weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces. She is adorable and it was so amazing being with my BFF and watching her new baby be born! Congrats to our friends, we love you lots!

whatnot wednesday
So I'm getting another care package ready to send to my little guy. His first birthday is coming up, so we got a cute Dr. Seuss card and a birthday shirt along with some other goodies. I haven't taken a picture yet, but will soon.
My good friend is getting ready to have baby #3 any time now. She went to the hospital this afternoon, but is not quite ready yet, so they send her home. I am excited for A to have a buddy close to his age to play with and grow up with, and I am so excited to meet her new little one! They are waiting to find out the sex of the baby and it's making me go nuts... I want to know!!!
Have you ever answered the phone at work and had someone ask "what number is this"? Um... well... you called me. So what number did you dial, genius?
I was at M's softball game last week and there was this cute little girl that got ahold of a flashlight (wow, mom is really prepared for anything!!). She turned it on so the light was shining on the ground, then bent over to try to pick it up. It was the cutest thing. Every time she leaned over, the light would move, so she'd reach a little farther, and then a little farther.... hilarious.
And speaking of softball, it's been fun to watch M play softball lately. I missed all of his spring games because his games were always on the same night as one of my classes. Both my parents used to play and so I spent lots of summers at the ball fields growing up. At last night's game, I was thinking about how fun it will be to have A next summer and have him come to games with me to watch Daddy play ball.
Happy Wednesday!

Is it Friday yet?
We've had some fun weekends lately and I found myself wondering today "is it Friday yet?" and it's only Tuesday... Bummer.
We celebrated my mom's birthday and my birthday with family two weekends ago and then celebrated Father's Day early last weekend since we have other commitments on Father's Day weekend. It was fun to get M a Father's Day card from me and A, and he also got some "dad" stuff. We were in the mountains both weekends, and the weather was absolutely perfect! We walked around downtown, ate lots of good food, played with the dogs, ate some more food, watched some movies, and walked around Lily Lake. We got alot of great pictures.

At least I have gorgeous pictures to stare at while I wait for it to become Friday... hurry up!

Loving the sun
After weeks of rainy gray weather, the sun is finally out for more than a few hours at a time! I am so happy! And June is here already... my favorite month! This weekend we have a get together with family to celebrate my mom's birthday and my birthday. I'm ready for a fun celebration (with more sun!)
Having nice weather helps keeps my spirits up. I haven't engaged in much adoption-talk lately because our news of delayed travel is so depressing. Some days I don't feel like this is real, or I don't feel "like a mom" and it's heartbreaking. Pre-referral, I kind of had that same feeling. It didn't feel "real" or really sink in at that point. Then the referral and pictures gave me a boost to feel "we have our son!". The first part of this year was a little better with being busy with school, and we got a few updates on A and a video. Now this part of the process feels like the beginning. Some days are better than others, and I am just glad that so far the spring seems to have gone by quickly. I hope the rest of the year does the same. I love summer, so I normally want it to go really slow, but I'm ok with time flying by this year!
June has lots of fun stuff planned. We have the birthdays and then fathers day... any excuse to get our family together for good food is fun! I am also hosting a baby shower for my good friend later this month. They are waiting to find out if it's a boy or girl, and I can't wait to find out! Their new little one will share a birthday (or be pretty close to it) with our little man, so that will be fun in years to come! And then since we got rained out of camping for Memorial Day, we planned another trip for later this month. Staying busy makes the time go quick!!
Happy June!!
